Auricula were invited to Srishti School of Art in Bangalore to participate in their interim semester programme starting Nov 21st and lasting for 3 weeks. 21 students signed up to the MAOS 2 project. They were predominantly 1st and 2nd year students studying textiles.
Building on the success of MAOS1 in London earlier in the year MAOS2 aimed to promote and enhance the experience of listening at a chosen site somewhere in Bangalore. Over the three weeks of the project we conceptualised, designed, constructed, installed and opened MAOS2 as a temporary, site-specific, immersive listening experience. Along the way we explored listening, textiles, site, the audio-visual relationship, designing and making portable structures, sound recording, sound editing, sound mixing and electronics.
